Product Disclaimer
All products in our catalogue are hand crafted
by our suppliers in Java, Lombok, Bali and
India using traditional methods. Minor variations
or irregularities are characteristic of these
handcrafted origins and occasionally there
is deviation in colour and grain of wood. This
is part of the finish and testimony to the
uniqueness of each piece. Our wood is dried
by our suppliers in their own kiln to what
should be considered acceptable moisture content
for a solid wood product in this price region.
Wood is a natural fibre and as such can never
be guaranteed. However it is extremely rare
that the structural integrity of the item is
compromised.
If you experience
any wood reaction in your product this can
usually be remedied although we feel that this
naturally occurring flaw actually enhances
the character of each product. Any splits or
cracks can be filled with dark furniture wax
or simple application of sandpaper, stain and
wax will rectify many irregularities. At Sassak
we make every effort to reduce such instances,
but by the very nature of the product complete
elimination is impossible. Should you have
any genuine problems with your product please
get in touch and we will make every effort
to make a replacement or credit you.
Our furniture
/ crafts are of ethnic origin and being timber
based products they may be subject to moisture
movement over a period of time as a result
of climatic differences between Indonesia and
the UK
