Terms & Conditions

Naturally we would love to answer your questions fully, so if you have anything you want to ask us or are unsure about, simply contact us. However, to save you time, we have listed the most common questions we get asked below:

1. Payments 

Payment for all products ordered via the website can be made online. We accept most major credit cards including Visa, Mastercard, Solo, Switch, Maestro and JCB through our website. Payment will not be taken from your card until the goods are ready to be shipped out to you. 

2. Deliveries 

Charge  £4.95  -  All Giftware and Accessories  orders are dispatched using an external courier.  In most cases orders are dispatched on the next working day and should arrive within 3 working days.  This price is per consignment not per item. 

Charge  £10  -  Smaller Items of Furniture   we also use a courier for these deliveries.  The charge for this is £10 and the order should reach you within 3 working days. 

Charge  £30  -  Larger Items of Furniture and Mirrors  these items are delivered by ourselves using our own delivery vehicles.  As you can imagine, we can’t be in all parts of the UK every week, so the delivery time for these items may be up to 4 weeks.  However, this is a maximum time and delivery may be much quicker.  When we receive your order we will contact you to give you a delivery schedule. 

Outlying Areas of the UK  unfortunately our couriers charge us a premium to deliver to parts of northern Scotland and the offshore islands of the UK.  We have to pass at least some of this cost on to our customers.  Charges for :  Highlands of Scotland, The Grampian Region, Northern Ireland and all Offshore islands of the UK, are as follows : 

Giftware and Accessories : £9.00  per consignment
Smaller Items of Furniture: £14.00
Larger Items of Furniture: £38.00 

As we cannot reach these areas with our own lorries, we use couriers for all orders.  Unfortunately we cannot send mirrors by courier as experience has taught us that this usually ends in disaster! 

Our furniture delivery team will telephone you on receipt of your order to arrange delivery.  Deliveries will generally be made from Monday to Friday.  Unfortunately we cannot delivery on a Saturday.  We will, however, endeavour to be as flexible as possible in order to fit in with your agenda.

2.1. Delivery Charges

All giftware and accessory items are charged at £4.95 per consignment. 

Items of furniture are charged at either £10 or £30 depending on the size and weight of the item.  Your basket will tell you which charge applies when you proceed to the checkout.

Most orders are dispatched on the next working day and will arrive within 3 working days.  Larger items of furniture, mirrors and other very breakable items are delivered on our own lorries.  We guarantee delivery within 4 weeks but in many cases the delivery time will be much shorter than this.

2.2. Returns

All orders are checked before leaving our warehouse and sent out in perfect condition.  Occasionally however goods are damaged in transit.  We ask that you check your goods as soon as they arrive and if you are not happy then telephone or email us within 48 hours. We will then guarantee to replace your goods.

3. Placing an order

(a) Browse the shopping pages and select the product(s) you wish to buy. Then enter the quantity you require from the drop down menu and then click the "Add to Cart" button. You will now be taken to your shopping basket page, which will contain all the items you have added to your cart. If you have finished shopping, check the price including delivery and then click "Check Out with PayPal".

(b) On the PayPal secure payments page you can either pay with your credit/debit card or log in to your PayPal account if you have one. It is easy to create a new PayPal account if you want to by following the instructions on the screen. If you are paying by card, please enter your Billing Information, which includes all the details from your card, including the last three digits from the security code on the back. Then click the "Review Payment" button.

(c) Please review your information. If you need to send us special instructions regarding delivery times, etc, please add these here. If everything is correct, click the "Continue" button.

(d) The next page is your checkout. Step 1 Your Email You have the option now to cancel and continue shopping or to continue to check out. You can either create an account with Sassak or check out as a guest, so just click which option applies. Step 2 Your Billing Address Please check the total amount of your bill and your billing address. If you want to use a different shipping address, then click this option and complete Step 2A with the shipping address details. Step 3 Shipping and Subtotal Please check the amount of the cart order total. Step 4 Payment Information Please check and this and if you are happy, you can confirm your order by clicking the "Confirm Order" button.

(e) Your payment will be processed and the next page is your receipt with your order ID details which you can print or save.

(f) We will now process your order and despatch your goods.

4. Product Disclaimer 

All products on our website are hand crafted by our suppliers in Java, Lombok, Bali and India using traditional methods. Minor variations or irregularities are characteristic of these handcrafted origins and occasionally there is deviation in colour and grain of wood. This is part of the finish and testimony to the uniqueness of each piece. Our wood is dried by our suppliers in their own kiln to what should be considered acceptable moisture content for a solid wood product in this price region. Wood is a natural fibre and as such can never be guaranteed. However it is extremely rare that the structural integrity of the item is compromised.

If you experience any wood reaction in your product this can usually be remedied although we feel that this naturally occurring flaw actually enhances the character of each product. Any splits or cracks can be filled with dark furniture wax or simple application of sandpaper, stain and wax will rectify many irregularities. At Sassak we make every effort to reduce such instances, but by the very nature of the product complete elimination is impossible. Should you have any genuine problems with your product please get in touch and we will make every effort to make a replacement or credit you.

Our furniture / crafts are of ethnic origin and being timber based products they may be subject to moisture movement over a period of time as a result of climatic differences between Indonesia and the UK.

5. Returns / Complaints 

At Sassak we make every effort to reduce such instances, but by the very nature of the product complete elimination is impossible. Should you have any genuine problems with your product please get in touch and we will make every effort to make a replacement or credit you.

In the event of damage or other complaint please advise us within 14 days of receipt otherwise no credit or claim can be allowed.

6. Privacy Policy 

We are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about the lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998). We collect information about you for 2 reasons: firstly, to process your order and secondly, to provide you with the best possible service. We will not e-mail you in the future unless you have given us your consent by joining our mailing list. If you wish to stop receiving our mail shots please email us stating your desire to be

deleted from our mailing list and your details will be withdrawn within 24 hours. We will not pass your e-mail address to anyone. 

The type of information we will collect about includes:
- Your name
- Your address
- Phone number
- Email address
- Credit/debit card details

This information is only used to fulfil your order and for our trading records. It will not be used for any other purpose. Credit/debit card details are not retained once the order is completed. We will never collect sensitive information about you without explicit consent. The information we hold will accurate and up to date. You can check the information that we hold about you by emailing us. If you find any inaccuracies we will delete or correct it promptly. The personal information which we hold will be held securely in accordance with our internal security policy and the law this can include using Cookies. Cookies are small pieces of information that are stored by your browser on your computer's hard drive. Our cookies enable us to store items in your shopping cart between visits. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually change your browser to prevent that.
