& accessories from Indonesia, Vietnam and India spending
many weeks of the year in these
countries sourcing new lines. The company has a wide range
of furniture including Shesham from India, contemporary
Teak from Java and our fantastic Root furniture from Bali.
In
addition we have a wide range of unusual lighting from Java,
pottery from Lombok, wooden carvings (dragons, buddhas,
abstract, animals), lacquerware from Vietnam and nickelware
from India as well as boxes & caskets, rattan placemats
and much, much more!
We
are a family based business and have strong links with the
countries from which we buy. We are responsible for all
of our own buying and in doing so we can control who we
buy from. When we buy we like to go to the workplace and
see the conditions in which the employees are working -
if we are not happy we simply do not do business. The majority
of our suppliers are also small family based companies employing
family members and, sometimes, other local village people.
By buying in this way we ensure the fair price that we pay
is channelled to the people who need it most, cutting out
the middleman. |
